Fulvestrant: A Therapy of Breast Cancer
Fulvestrant is a medication intended to treat hormone receptor (HR) +Ve metastatic breast cancer in postmenopausal women with disease progression. The fulvestrant injection is also intended to treat HR+Ve, HER2-negative advanced breast cancer along with palbociclib in women with disease progression following endocrine therapy. Fulvestrant basically comes as a solution (liquid) to be injected slowly over 1 to 2 minutes into a muscle in the buttocks. It should be administered by a health specialist in a medical office. It is usually administered once every 2 weeks for the initial 3 doses (days 1, 15, and 29) and once in a month thereafter.
